It Started With $25 and a Purpose
Stacked With Purpose didn’t begin with a business plan.
It began with $25, a mission trip, and a willingness to use what was already in my hands.
I’m Sarah, founder of Stacked With Purpose. I’m a Filipino American woman, wife, mother of five, grandmother, homeschool mom, former professional singer, and business owner. Faith and serving others have been woven through many seasons of my life.
In 2021, I was preparing for a mission trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. I walked into a store, bought $25 worth of materials, and started making bracelets to help fund my trip.
A close friend became one of the first people to support me and purchase a bracelet.
At the time, I wasn’t thinking about building a jewelry company. I was simply using what I could create with my hands to help get me where I felt called to go.
I had no idea those first bracelets would become the beginning of something much bigger.
How Stacked With Purpose Got Its Name
One day, I was at Coco Shrimp waiting for my food. I had several of the bracelets stacked on my wrist, and against their blue wall, I took a photo.
As I was getting ready to post it on Instagram, the words came to me:
Stacked With Purpose.
Yes, they were bracelets stacked on my wrist, and those bracelets had a purpose. They were helping fund my mission trip to Oaxaca.
But even that night, Stacked With Purpose meant more to me than a stack of bracelets.
I thought about my own life and the different seasons I had already walked through — music, motherhood, marriage, ministry, homeschooling — and how each one had carried a different kind of purpose.
That night, I realized something I still believe today:
We aren’t given only one purpose in life. Every season can carry its own purpose.
There is purpose in motherhood. Purpose in business. Purpose in ministry. Purpose in creating. Purpose in giving. Purpose in starting something new.
Our purpose can look different from season to season, and that doesn’t make one season less meaningful than another.
We can carry many purposes throughout our lifetime, almost like layers being added through every season we walk through.
And right there, those bracelets had a purpose too.
They were helping send me to Oaxaca.
I didn’t know yet what Stacked With Purpose would become, but I knew what the name meant.
And that meaning is still at the heart of who we are today.
Then I Went to Oaxaca
In September 2021, I went on that mission trip.
While I was there, I had the opportunity to teach a bracelet-making class. But I didn’t want to teach people only how to make a bracelet.
I wanted them to understand that you can create something with your hands while also giving something from your heart.
They created their own original designs, but they were also encouraged to think about another person and speak life and encouragement over them.
It was about more than creating something beautiful.
It was about the power of giving encouragement, speaking life over someone, and reminding them of God’s thoughts toward them.
Looking back, I can see that the heart of Stacked With Purpose was already there.
It was never only about jewelry.
It was about creating something meaningful that could remind another person that they are seen, valued, and created with purpose.
One Month Later, Everything Changed
Before I even came home from Oaxaca, I knew this was something I would continue doing.
What I didn’t know was how God would use it beyond anything I could have imagined.
In October, just one month after the trip, I set up at my very first event.
The response and sales were something I wasn’t expecting.
That event became a pivotal moment for me. It was when I realized I needed to take seriously what had started with just $25.
From there, Stacked With Purpose became a traveling pop-up, taking our pieces from state to state, meeting people face-to-face and hearing the stories behind the words they chose.
What began as a way to help send me to a mission field was becoming a mission of its own.
The Heart Is Still the Same
Today, Stacked With Purpose has grown far beyond those first bracelets, but the heart behind it hasn’t changed.
Our pieces carry declarations and meaning. Each one comes with a Declaration Card that shares the meaning behind the piece and gives you truth you can return to again and again.
And through our personalized Words in Due Season, we have the privilege of writing encouragement specifically for the person receiving it.
Because the jewelry was never meant to be the end of the story.
It’s a reminder.
A reminder that you aren’t limited to one purpose.
A reminder that the season you’re in matters.
A reminder that what is in your hands right now can have purpose.
And a reminder that something seemingly small can become more than you ever imagined.
I know because I’ve lived it.
What started with $25 in my hands became more than I could have imagined.
And through every season, we’re still Stacked With Purpose.
